Build your brand
Who are you and what do you stand for? Social media is the best place to show a bit of personality and get your brand out there. This is much more effective than traditional media as you can get your brand in front of more people much more quickly and easily.
Consumers tend to buy from a brand they recognise or have heard about. Social media helps you to build trust with your current customers and reach new, potential customers that may be interested in your product.
Get people talking about you
A strong social media presence will generate conversation around your brand and what you have to offer.
The way to get people talking is to focus on generating content that naturally creates conversation. Some examples of this are:
- Posting content relating to current trends within your industry
- Give shout-outs to other companies you network with
- Ask your followers questions – get them to interact
- Make use of tagging locations and people
Gather audience data
Many social media platforms provide you with insights into how people are interacting with your content. This could include reach, views, engagement, impressions, and post interactions. You can also gain access to specific information about your audience including gender, age, and location.
How to view insights on:
- Go to your Facebook page
- Navigate to the ‘Manage Page’ sidebar on the left of the page
- Select ‘Insights’
- Go to your Instagram profile
- Select ‘Insights’
- For audience insights, select ‘top followers.
- Navigate to the tweet you would like to see the insights for
- Underneath the tweet you will see an ‘insights’ icon on the far right
- For broad metrics, go to your Twitter page and select the ‘More’ tab on the left side of the screen and then click ‘Analytics’
Engage with your audience
One of the biggest benefits of social media is being able to build a relationship with your audience. It’s important to interact with comments from your audience as it shows you’re a brand that cares about its customers. Building trust with your audience could also lead to them becoming a brand advocate and raising more awareness of your brand.
Furthermore, the more interaction your content receives, the more your profile will be picked up by the algorithm and shown to more users.
